Little African to launch album ‘Move On’

On March 28, all roads will lead to North Point Guinness Bar, Enmore as musician Roy Elias aka Little African launches his second album “Move On”. The album is filled with 16 reggae tracks that cover various subject areas.

The artiste formerly of Victoria Village now resides in Jamaica, and says the album was recorded in Guyana at the Brutal Tracks studio and in Jamaica at Respect and Manners studio.

The artiste, who has been singing since the age of eight, says the new album offers his take on love, peace, responsibility and spirituality among other topics.

“Girl I got my eyes on you” and “Who Jah bless”, which are on the album, were released as singles and have enjoyed air play locally and in Jamaica.

On another note, while many might believe that Fojo wrote the hit “Playing games”, Little African, in clearing the air, said it was he who penned the single as a result of a true experience in Tobago in 1999.

Born in Alben Suriname to a Dutch Guyanese and a Jamaican, the artiste
grew up in Jamaica and then migrated to Guyana at the age of nine.  Since then, the former student of Victoria Primary School has been living in Suriname, Guyana and Jamaica. To date he produced two videos and two albums. The first album was titled “Love Is the Answer”.

However, he’s about to up his game and persons going to the album launch will treated to be a preview of the new music video for “Deh yah pun a mission”. The father of seven sons, including two pairs of twins, says he is aiming to one day hit the world charts, as a representative of the three lands he calls home. He is currently managed by David Kaladia.

“To me, Guyana has too many underlying vibes amongst the local artistes and music producers. I believe that  it is time people stop fighting down each other; and  all should be working to  develop  a functioning  body to  better  represent for  intellectual property rights and  collectively work on creating an internationally appealing Guyanese indigenous sound like  soca is to Trinidad.” said Little African
