Bartica’s Chairman Mr. Bradford said this year’s Regatta will include more events and entertainment.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Bradford said the event will be a grand one, although the annual Miss Bartica Pageant will not be held this year, due to time constraints. However, a gospel fest will be held in its place on Sunday Night. He stated that the gospel fest will be an annual event.
Bradford said the programme promises to be an exciting one even though there will be no pageant.
Tarrus Riley will headline a splash concert at the Bartica Community Centre on April 7.
Tickets for the concert cost $2000 and $3000 at the gate, and special VIP tickets cost $8000.
On Sunday, there will be the “Run Bartica Run” event as well as power boat events on Sunday and Monday. The regatta will culminate with a trottle “down” Monday, which will feature an international artiste to be announced soon.
Bartica Regatta is an annual event which is held during the Easter weekend. The event is a major tourist attraction and draws tourists from the Caribbean and farther afield.
