DAMIAN ‘Junior Gong’ Marley’s collab with Busy Signal’s Kingston Town Remix video was released on YouTube recently.
Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Goshia Gordon, is before the US court on drug-related charges.
The video — directed by Dameon Gayle — shows laid back interaction between Busy Signal and Jr Gong as well as images of a downtown Kingston.
By remixing Alborosie’s Kingston Town, Busy and Jr Gong give the song a slightly faster rhythm. the two artiste merged their styles to produce a very ‘conscious’ song. The remix is a social commentary, as expressed when the young Marley sings, “Dem a war ova turf like nothing else matters, pity them nuh know life has much more to offer.”
