Jamaica’s Kerrie Bayliss ran away with the 2012 Miss Jamzone International crown here in Guyana last night.
The former Miss Jamaica World was a crowd favourite as she danced her way to the top spot.
Moving to the beat of songs by Beenie Man, Chevelle Franklin and Elephant Man, Bayliss claimed to be the “Jamaican Dancehall Queen” just before the start of her cultural presentation.
Bayliss lived up to that proclamation, according to Jamzone’s Facebook page, as the crowd went wild when she took on the popular song, “Bubble Gyal” by Jamaican artiste Konshens.
Bayliss beat out Louise Victor of St Lucia (second), Trevicia Adams of St Kitts and Nevis and Guyana’s Ayanna Harris to cop the US$10,000 ($891,000) cash prize.
