Chris Gayle to Record Song

Chris Gayle, or ‘Crampy’ as he is affectionately called, will debut his lyrical prowess on a new song scheduled to hit the airwaves.

The single will be a promotion for a dance called the ‘Chris Gayle Cover Drive’, invented by G-Unit dancer Zinga.

According to Zinga, the dance came about after seeing the success of his close friend on the cricket pitch and the ensuing celebratory ritual. Zinga, who is a former cricket player himself, also revealed that the dance was influenced by both Gayle and the mega-popular ‘Gangnam Style’ dance.

The song to accompany the dance will feature dancehall artiste QQ, who is also known for his dance hits ‘Rum Ram’ and ‘Stukie’. The young dancehall artiste said that he is very excited to be a part of the project and his interest was piqued when Zinga contacted him and relayed the idea.

“It feels good to be part of this project. Chris is an athlete that has done a lot for the sport of cricket internationally and this will expose me to a new market, for example, Pakistan and those places. We are going to vibe the song in the studio, naturally, and this will also show the world that Jamaica has unity, universal love and talent. fans can look forward to hearing this song next month,” QQ said.

The single has not yet been recorded but Gayle is expected to record his part of the song before departing for the much-anticipated Bangladesh tour. Since neither Gayle nor Zinga are known for their musical abilities, the song should definitely be an interesting one.

According to Zinga, the video for the single will be shot when Gayle returns to Jamaica and will feature fellow cricketers Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Bravo, Wavell Hinds and Daren Powell, alongside Gayle. Zinga also revealed that a dance move is in the works for Hinds called ‘Wave Dem’ and one for Samuels called ‘Nah Laugh Wid Dem’.

Gayle gained new fame for his jubilant performance of the Gangnam Style dance which has become a viral sensation.

Gangnam Style was invented by Korean producer turned rapper/pop star PSY. The song is currently in the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The video that follows the song has almost reached 500 million views on YouTube.

QQ is gearing up for his upcoming performances in Africa, while Chris Gayle is expected to tour Bangladesh along with the West Indies team.
