Help Meleesa Payne represent Guyana

Guyanese Melissa Payne needs your help!

If all goes well Melissa Payne will represent Guyana at yet another international pageant, Miss Humanitarian International slated for October 20 in Barbados. The 27-year-old beauty ambassador is soliciting the public’s assistance in raising US$1000 to cover her expenses during the pageant.

Once she gets the funds, Payne will battle 29 other world beauty queens, including Miss Jamaica Lisa Gale Wee-Thom who won the first Miss Jamzone International Pageant, for the coveted title.

Payne has served as Guyana’s representative to several international pageants, including Miss Universe where she was compared to Supermodel Iman. Payne first made a splash in the local pageantry circuit when she was adjudged first runner-up in the Miss Guyana Talented Teen contest in 2000; later that year, she went on to win the Miss Fantasy Talent International pageant and has not looked back since. Her list of pageant gold include the  Miss Ecstasy crown (British Virgin Islands, 2005); the Miss Jaycees Caribbean  title  (Antigua, 2006); the Miss Guyana Universe 2007 crown; the Miss Tropical Paradise title (Jamaica, 2009);  and the Miss Model International title (St Maarten, 2010). She was also the first runner-up of the 2004 Miss Guyana African Heritage and the 2008 Miss Carnival pageant in St Vincent, as well as the third runner-up and best talent of Miss Caribbean World 2006 in Tortola, BVI.
