ONE Love, One Life, the latest album from singer Beres Hammond, is number one on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. The album was released in mid-November and is a joint production between VP Records and Hammond’s Harmony House label.
The double CD has been in the top five of that list since its release. According to SoundScan, the company that tracks album sales in the United States, One Love, One Life has sold 2,178 copies to date.
Hammond wrote or produced 19 of the 20 songs on the album, which contains a mix of message songs and lovers’ rock numbers for which the singer has made his name.
VP and Hammond have gone all out to break new ground with One Love, One Life. Last week, he appeared the popular Late Night with Jimmy Fallon alongside neo-soul band, The Roots.
Hammond performed at the new Barclays Arena in Brooklyn on December 12. Two days later, he was at the Hard Rock Café in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Chris Chin, president of VP, believes One Love, One Life will pick up steam in the next three months.
“We hope to continue the momentum through Christmas and into 2013. We are happy to see Beres on top of the chart,” said Chin.
