Busy releases third single

It has been just short of two weeks since Busy Signal has been back in Jamaica. The dancehall-reggae artiste was locked up in the United States after absconding bail.

In those two weeks, Busy has been hard at work in the studios and just this week, he released his third single.

Come Shock Out, a song which was referred to as ‘very important’.

The song, a throwback to 1980s dancehall, tackles a number of social issues like bleaching, maintaining one’s moral code and healthy living.

Busy’s vocals almost seem to change in order to capture the fast pace of the track and is a step away from the slower, reggae sound he had come out with just before his arrest.

The sound is no less powerful. The Nah Guh A Jail Againstar also uses the track to say that while he has much respect for newer artistes like Romain Virgo, he has to pay homage to those who had paved the way before like Tiger and mentions legends like Bounty Killer, Bongo Herman, Dean Frazer, Tippa Lee and Rapper and Sugar Minott.

The disc jocks are not to be left out either, as Busy reminisces with witty lyrics about the days when there was just one turntable per sound.

The Shane Brown-produced track also features bits and pieces from the bassline in Dennis Brown’s Revolution – Busy proving that he too could make the rhythms of old, his.

Prior to Come Shock Out, Busy released Defenceand Bout It.
