Kartel remains strong

Despite the continuous postponements of his murder case, embattled Dancehall/Reggae superstar, Vybz Kartel remains undeterred by the uncertainty surrounding his long-standing legal woes.

On Monday, Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was due to stand trial at Kingston’s Home Circuit Court in the Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams case, only to be told to return on May 27 in the matter. This as a result of an undermanned jury, which reportedly raised the ire of The Crown and Kartel’s defense team as they were ready to begin.

Having been jailed for early 16 months while awaiting trial, it has been a strenuous test of will for Kartel. However, the self-professed ‘Worl’ Boss’ is letting the public know that he remains strong in spite of the wait.

According to Urban Islandz, a close source to Kartel spoke to the incarcerated deejay following the latest delay. The source said Kartel told him, “The system a try break me but mi stand firm in the belief of the almighty.” The source added, “They keep putting off the case because they know Addi innocent and they probably want find more things to charge him with.”

Kartel, along with Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Calvin ‘Moonie’ Haye and three co-accused each face murder charges in the Williams case. It’s alleged that each man participated in the slaying of Williams following an argument over a missing illegal gun.

Law enforcement officials maintain they have audio and video evidence implicating each of the accused in the killing. Another man, who was brought to the Havendale residence Williams was killed at, is reportedly the ‘star witness’ for the prosecution in the pending trial.
