Linden “Coming Clean in 2013”

Linden Town Week 2013 will be held under the theme “Coming Clean in 2013.” This year’s theme was selected by the Linden Town Week Committee (LTWC) Chairman Eon Halls following a competition which came to an end on December 31, 2012.

A release said while the response to this competition was poor, by procedure, a theme must be selected resulting from this process.

“The LTWC met, and as a result, it was decided that the theme for LTW 2013 is ‘Coming Clean in 2013’,” the release noted.

According to Public Relations Officer Staydon Payne, the winner’s name has not been disclosed, but the individual will be given an award of $35,000.

Meanwhile, Payne said plans for the week of activities are moving apace. He explained that individuals, groups and companies were invited to submit applications for the staging of events, noting that to date the committee has received 23 applications.

However, the PRO noted that only 15 applicants were invited for interviews by the LTWC.
“Thus far, resulting from these interviews, identified community-oriented events and LTWC events, there are 32 events scheduled during LTW 2013.”

These events which will be held from April 27 to May 6 range from religious, drama, cultural, sports, exhibitions, theme parties and an international concert.
