The Miss India Worldwide (Guyana) committee will soon be selecting a suitable candidate with the right credentials to be Guyana’s beauty ambassador to the international Miss India Worldwide Pageant 2013 to be held in Malaysia in April.
The committee will screen applicants to find the best candidate who has it all to represent our beautiful country Guyana, as she tries to equal the feat of Alana Seebarran, Miss India Guyana 2012, who brought home Guyana’s first International crown, when she won the Miss India Worldwide 2012 crown in Suriname. All of the necessary training will be done as early as possible to prepare the candidate for Malaysia.
National director of the local pageant and Apsara CEO, Chandini Ramnarain said while only two national local pageants were held, the country have fielded four queens to date to the international pageant – Padmini Rambalak, Lucria Rambalak, Roshini Boodhoo, and Alana Seebarran. The first three women won special prizes, including Miss Congeniality, Miss Healthy Hair, and Best Talent in their outings, before the reigning Miss India Worldwide did Guyana proud.
This year, organisers are hoping to continue to showcase Guyana and make the country proud at the international pageant, as has been the case for the past four years.
