Bunji tonight in Guyana at STAGe

The ‘STAGE’ – an initiative of Ansa McAl held under the Stag Beer brand – will be graced tonight with the presence of one of the Caribbean’s biggest Soca Stars ‘Bunji’ along with his Wife Fay-Ann and their Asylum Band.

STAGE, which begun on Tuesday last and held at the Merrimans Mall (between Light and Cummings Street) featured another Soca sensation from Trinidad and Tobago, ‘Swappi’, was also held on Wednesday featuring the local acts, and last evening with some of Guyana’s premier comedians.

But unarguably the most anticipated night will be when Bunji and his band hit the ‘STAGE’.

The song ‘Differentology’ or more popularly known as ‘Ready fuh di road”, is the most played song both locally and regionally with the Trinidadian gaining more popularity for having the most played song around in this season.

Bunji has won the Soca Monarch five times but this Carnival season, his track has not only let his already big fan base embrace him more, but also gaining new found aficionados in the process.

His style has transcend the Caribbean invited music to higher grounds, since it infuses Reggae/Dancehall calling it ‘Ragga Soca’ and is more accepted across the Caribbean and further afield.

The 34 year-old artiste who real name is Ian Alvarez will be charm Guyana along with his wire Fay-Ann Lyons and their famed ‘Asylum’ Band.

The daughter of Soca Legend and joint (with Machel Montano) 2013 Soca Monarch ‘Super Blue’ is herself a star in her own right and is the Caribbean’s leading female artiste in the genre.

Entrance to the event is absolutely free and based on the massive crowd support for the other events; one can only imagine what will happen this evening.

John Maikoo, STAG Beer manager, stated that he is overwhelmed with the amount of support shown by the public as they encourage all to come out to support tonight’s show.
