Come Sunday, Guyana will be glued to their television as GT&T Jingle and Song competition will premiere with the first audition session in Linden.
There, we got some perfectly fine numbers and a few people who were sent home because their voices didn’t quite measure up. Most of those cut left with grace while there were certainly a few weepers. Only 17 persons made it through at Linden.
There were some exceptional performances and even a few shocking eliminations, one of which even led the team to the home of a very talented birthday girl for a second shot at qualifying and also a special surprise. Be sure not to miss this party on February 17 on HJTV Channel 72, NCN Channel 11, NTN Channel 69 and LRTV Channel 8 from 7pm to 9pm to be a part of the crazy wig-flying experience.
Meanwhile, Berbice contestants were off to an early start on Saturday last with persons arriving at the Little Rock Suites as early as 6am although auditions were scheduled to kick off three hours later.
Unlike Linden, there were quite a few contestants who auditioned with Bollywood selections, almost all of whom went on to the next round.
Among the 31 who did make it through in Berbice, at least until the next round, were some very miraculous stories behind the smiling faces. A few special features have been put together to highlight and share these with the rest of Guyana and among them is the struggle of a charming 16-year-old orphan who blew the roof off the building and stole the hearts of the judges. This is a little boy with a big voice who definitely earned his spot in the next round.
The next stop is Essequibo where persons can come down to the Anna Regina Town Hall on February 14 for their shot at becoming the next Guyana Star.
