Sitting on the panel for the Bollywood Segment of the GT&T Jingle and Song Competition are Joel Ghansham, who also sits on the panel of the English segment, Sherry-Ann Dyal, Aditya Persaud and Sookrane Boodhoo, all of whom are well versed in the Indian culture, well educated and possess a keen insight of Bollywood music.
Ghansham, who is no stranger to this competition, is a dance exponent, television host and cultural promoter. He has attained international status in the world of show business and can rightly be termed a cultural ambassador for Guyana. This judge lived for many years in the United States of America and received a sound education there. He now holds a Degree in Business Administration.
Joel began performing at public arenas from a very tender age and later would move onto
appearances on TV Asia and ITV, the West Indian Awards and as far as venues in Europe, Asia, North and South America and the Caribbean.
Now residing in Guyana, Ghansham has been lending his expertise in this field; one major way being his two-year consecutive appearances on the GT&T Jingle and Song Competition.
Dyal, popularly known to be a former member of the Shakti Strings Band, has been intrigued by music as a child and has developed into a very talented singer. She was apart of the band, which at that time was known as the Sheriff Deputies, from 1996-1999 and one of her band mates happened to have been Sean Bhola, a Judge on the panel of the English Segment.
Sherry-Ann is considered a diverse artist since she has experience in both Indian and English music, singing English Oldies as a Sheriff Deputy.
She has also been involved in theatre productions, acting in plays such as ‘the love of Adiana andSyraha’ and ‘Baghban’. Dyal starred in several commercials, both television and radio and more recently, made contributions towards a documentary compilation aimed at HIV/Aids Awareness.
Dyal held a Hostess position at the Lottery company for 17 years and now has a full-time job at the Ministry of Finance.
With a bubbly personality, this Judge said she can bring food to the table in her search for
someone versatile, incredibly talented and someone who can captivate an audience with great stage performance.
