Bollywood playback singers Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan are here for the first time in Guyana, and are excited to perform at the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s mega-concert. Set for tonight at the National Stadium at Providence, EBD, the eagerly awaited event in celebration of the 175th Anniversary of Indian Arrival in Guyana. The concert starts at 7pm, but gates will be opened from 5 pm.
A Sabha press statement has said that Alka and Udit will be accompanied by a full band of musicians out of Mumbai, and that they have worked at putting together a special collection of the songs loved by Guyanese. The Sabha’s Dharmic Nritya Sangh will accompany them with dances.
All proceeds from this concert will be directed towards construction of the Sabha’s Children’s Shelter, “Bal Nivas”, at Ankerville, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.

Stadium parking tickets costing $1000 are also on sale.
