GT&T Jingle Final set for June 14

The long-awaited final of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company Jingle and Song competition has been confirmed for Friday, June 14 at the National Cultural Centre.

Both the Bollywood and English contestants will compete as they vie for the title of this year’s Guyana Star. Immediately after the performances from the 16 finalists, the telephone lines will be opened for voting. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite contestants over a period stipulated by the telephone company. The winners will be announced at the grand finale, which will be scheduled for a date to be announced.
Those who made it to the final in the Bollywood segment are: Yeataindra Singh, Andy Rambarack, Reshma Persaud, Devchandra Ramrattan, Bibi Halima Khan, Sasenarine Hitnarayan, Harresh Singh, Bunty Singh, Danishwar Bisessar, and Erick Sukrah. Those who made it to the final of the English segment are Neil Maraj, T’Shanna Cort, Diana Chapman, Natasha Yhap, Lerone Souvenir, Edward Perez, Ryan Hoppie, Darren Benjamin, Lemuel Chestor, and Michael Small.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Monday, June 3, and cost $1500 and $1000. Close to 1000 persons from across the country auditioned for the competition in March this year. The winners in the two segments will each walk away with a motor car, along with one $1 million.
