Mavado & Tommy Lee for Guyana August 17

Mavado and Tommy Lee will be heading to Guyana for the highly anticipated Slingerz/Carib Beer Summer Jam, on August 17 at the Guyana National Stadium.

This is the first time the two artiste will be sharing the same stage since Sting 2012 and having both enhance their arterially of music since then, the question will be ask, who will really be the headline act on the night?.

Mavado last visited Guyana on News Years Day (January 1) when he starred the Kashif and Shanghai after Football Finals Show at the Guyana National Stadium, while Tommy Lee created havoc at the National Park on December 25 when he stormed the stage at the Slingerz Christmas Concert.

In a Release, Slingerz Entertainment stated that they are more than excited, just like any other dancehall fan to bring two of the biggest names in the business to Guyana as they continue with their trend of providing quality entertainment and showing appreciation to their fans for their year-round support.

“Both artistes will be coming to Guyana with their band, which will add a more stage show atmosphere to the event. Each artiste has their own fans, so we plan on bringing them all together for one massive show. Just like everyone else, we at Slingerz Family don’t have a clue who will be the last on stage since in our book, they are both main acts” Slingerz Entertainment stated in their release.

Slingerz Entertainment, further said that “the event was created to satisfy the entertainment hunger of Guyanese both at home and those returning for the August vacation period as well as to create an avenue for those regionally especially our friends in Suriname, Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago”.

According to the ‘West Side’ based Slingerz Entertainment, promotion will commence in two weeks with ticket give-a-ways, promotional parties, live radio and television updates and a VIP party that will give fans a chance to interact with the artistes”.

Leroy Russell more popularly known as Tommy Lee and Tommy Lee Sparta burst out on the Dancehall frontier in 2008 while David Brooks, aka Mavado, seems like a veteran in the business, even though he had only surfaced in 2005.

Mavado is considered as one of the ‘poster boys’ of the Dancehall genre, who is now signed to the We the Best Music Group/Cash Money Records.

“This is a show that many would remember for the ages so we are looking forward to August 17” Slingerz Entertainment pointed out.
