DJ Platinum (Andrew Billson) proved himself as the DJ with the newest concept in the entertainment arena as he walked away the winner of the Mackeson DJ Real Vibes Competition.
The first place winner is a proud Mackeson Ambassador and will be given the opportunity to DJ at Mackeson sponsored events; DJ Platinum was also presented with a cheque worth $600,000, a Samsung Laptop and Beats High Performance Professional Headphones today at ANSA McAL Trading Ltd Head Office, B.V, E.C.D.
DJ Platinum of Tucville, Georgetown said that, “The competition was exciting, especially to compete against other DJs and I look forward to showcasing my skills at Mackeson events.”
DJ Six (Yohance Roberts) who was awarded second place won $400,000 along with a Samsung Laptop and Beats High Performance Professional Headphones.
Mackeson Brand Representative, Jamaal Douglas said that he was extremely pleased to see the support not only from the DJs but the crowd as well. He added that, “The competition aimed to expose a fresh concept to the music sector in Guyana by letting the younger generations of DJs show their extraordinary talent.”
Auditions were held across Guyana where contestants were required to DJ before a judging panel of veteran DJs and entertainers.
The Mackeson DJ Real Vibes Competition proved to be the ultimate disc jockey competition which aimed to expose fresh, young talent in the entertainment sector. During a period of three months starting in April and concluding in early July, 25 Disc Jockeys from Linden, Berbice, West Coast Demerara and Georgetown were in fierce rivalry to win the title and bragging rights.
