Number 63 Beach will come alive this Sunday when the third annual Digicel Duck Curry competition is held, which will see winners walking away with over $600,000 in cash and other prizes.
To date, over 20 groups and individuals have confirmed their participation at the event. These include persons from across the country, including Berbice and Demerara.
Persons wishing to participate in the competition must bring a minimum of 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) of duck meat. All participants are allowed to clean and cut their ducks at home, but the meat must be marinated and cooked at the venue.
Registration forms can be uplifted at Digicel stores in New Amsterdam, Rose Hall and Corentyne and the company’s main office, Fort and Barrack streets, Kingston, Georgetown. The competition starts at 11:30h.
The stage show will feature Kris Persad and the JMC 3Veni Band and Guyanese Soca sensation, Michelle “Big Red” King. There will also be Lyndon “Jumbie” Jones to spice things up with some of his outrageous jokes.
