Jamaican reggae dancehall artiste Sean Paul has confirmed his upcoming concert at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The artiste is expected in the country for a concert on the eve of Zambia’s 49th Independence celebration.
In a short message posted on his website, the Grammy winning reggae singer and rapper, born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques on January 9, 1973 is looking forward to the show.
“All Zambia crew roll out to the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on October 23rd. For more information, visit the Facebook page. Be there so that we come and dance together,” he said.
The show is being organised by Kitwe’s pleasure resort, Greek Olive in conjunction with reality talent show Dreams Zambia. It will be powered by Powermedia.
The message couldn’t have come at a better time. There has been some uncertainty, among fans regarding the scheduled show as many thought it was just a hoax. https://www.facebook.com/seanpaulzambia
“A certain individual announced that the Sean Paul concert has been cancelled. Well, whoever they are, they can check out the event on Sean Paul’s Facebook page under the tour dates and also Sean’s official website (www.allseanpaul.com). There’s the proof,” says The Greek Olive.
Meanwhile, local artistes Macky II, Afunika, JK and Cactus Agony have been accorded the opportunity to line up alongside the Jamaican dancehall artiste.
The show, which will be strictly live, will also see the likes of Ben and Kiki perform alongside Danny and his MoFire Band.
If and when he comes, Sean Paul will be the third international dancehall artiste from the Caribbean to date Zambia, after Shabba Ranks in 1994 and Brick ‘n’Lace back in 2011.
