AMONG the hottest soca queens to ever grace our local shores is the very inimitable Shellon ‘Shelly G’ Garraway.
Several years ago, she invaded the soca arena in fine style, and there was no match for her ‘party fire’ afterwards. At every performance she rained ‘musical hell fire’ on her fans, and watched with a dreamy smile as they were engulfed in the raging, heady flames she ignited.
Up to late last year, she was quite a number, executing great achievements in Guyana and London, while she was attached to the Vizion Sound Studios.
Well, like they say, every singer has the right to make their own choice; so, today, the ‘wining diva’ has parted company with Vizion, but no one seems to be able to find her. Rumour has it that she has now teamed up with her former manager, Ian Johnson, and that he is doing wonders for her musically.
That would be a good, but we have been bombarded with questions from her numerous fans, questions we just can’t answer; so we are calling on the suave song bird, this ravaging ‘cauldron of broiling lava’, to say something for the sake of the suffering fans.
Come on, now! They contributed to your fame and stardom, you can’t just disappear without considering their feelings; not when they were just beginning to enjoy your explosive presence.
