Dancehall duo RDX has kicked off the New Year with an enticing new video.
While heavy-hitter singles like Jump, Kotch, Broad Out, and newer releases like Ride It and Come Wine It continue to spice up airwaves, RDX is taking a smooth approach with new video Sexy Touch.
“We wanted to showcase a smoother, more passionate side of RDX, to let our fans know we’re not one dimensional. Sexy Touch is only the introduction,” the duo said.
The journey to this musical exploration started months ago amidst RDX’s exciting touring schedule. Seeing the reach of dancehall as they took the stage in countries like Austria, Russia, and Reunion (a French Island located in the Indian Ocean), Delomar and Renigade became intrigued to seek more diversity in their musical abilities.
“Our core audience hungers for that grimey high-tempo music we have become famous for. However, 2014 is the year we reveal our true potential,” RDX said in a press release.
Presented with the opportunity to record over a teasing, slower-pace rhythm, RDX connected with producer SoUnique Records. After a few sessions, Sexy Touch emerged as a part of the ‘Get Wild’ rhythm compilation. The video, directed by Gareth Cobran, naturally had to follow suit with a quite simple mission to make the “sexiest RDX video yet”.
As Sexy Touch begins its playlist infiltration, RDX starts the year on an ecstatic high. And while preparations for video collaboration Lose Themselves with a prominent global music enclave Major Lazer finish, the duo heads back into the studio to work on not one, but two albums slated for a late 2014 release.
