Destra in Soca Monarch finals

“I left everything to ‘The Father’ and ‘The Father’ chose to put Farmer Nappy through.”
The self-proclaimed Queen of Bakanal Destra Garcia, who qualified in both the Groovy and Power Soca Monarch categories is taking her selection in stride.

In a release from her public relations team, Garcia has adopted a “one-day-at-a-time approach, especially given her hectic schedule from now until Fantastic Friday.

Benjai, whose “swinging” semi-final performance of “Come Out To Play” went viral on social media networks, failed to make the final cut of the competition.

In an interview on Wednesday evening, Benjai defended his choice of attire at the semi finals, boxers and socks, saying that Soca Monarch always had a fete atmosphere and that he didn’t do anything contrary to what any ordinary feter would do.

He said then that if he was not chosen for the finals, because of his choice of costuming, he was confident that his fans won’t let his omission pass without making a fuss.
The International Soca Monarch will come off at the National Stadium on February 28 where SuperBlue and Montano are expected to defend their titles.
