GEM’s special 10th anniversary edition (issue 61) will be hitting the newsstands very shortly a release from the magazine disclosed today. And for the very first time in the its history, there won’t be a personality on its cover. Instead, the publication opted to place emphasis on the number ten for obvious reasons.
In the release, the glossy lifestyle and entertainment magazine also disclosed that the decision to use this option is not a permanent one, readers should expect familiar faces to start back being featured on its covers from the April / May edition.
Over the years, there has been a hodgepodge of well-known people in fashion, sports, entertainment, business, music and the media to grace its glossy covers. Some of the big names on the list included Beverley Harper, Capt. Gerry Gouveia, Shiv Changerpaul, Linden ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Andrew King, Dr Vindhya Persaud, Adrian Dutchin, Colleen Reis, Kirk “Chow Pow” Jardine, Olive Gopaul, Donna Ramsammy-James, Jumo Primo, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Lisa Punch, Kit Nascimento, Sonia Noel, Charmaine Blackman, Alana Seebarran, Mark Vieira and Timeka Marshall just to name a few of the more than sixty persons highlighted.
In addition to the regular features, the February / March issue (61) also takes a retrospective look at the people, places and events that helped to make Guyana an interesting place for the last decade. The magazine promises everything but the kitchen sink, with lots of rare photos and exciting editorial in this issue.
