Ultimate Arm Wrestling Championship 2014

From ancient Egyptian time about 2000 B.C. men have always wanted to find new ways of testing their strength against each other, and the purest way was with arm wrestling, over the years the sport has become one of the most popular with the first tournament being held in California in 1952 and has become one of the biggest and most diverse annual tournaments in the world.  The arm wrestling phenomena has  taken over the television with blockbuster movies like “Over the Top” and one of the highest watch series “Game of Arms”.

It is with this in mind that we at 704 Sports Bar, look to host live competitive sports events at a sports bar thus giving birth to Guyana’s first Arm Wrestling Championships “Ultimate Arm Wrestling (UAW) Tournament 2014”.

This competition is open to everyone 18 years and older in three (3) categories;

  • Males Over 200lbs
  • Males Under 200 lbs
  • Female Open

Registration forms will be available from Tuesday 25th March, 2014 at 7O4 Sports Bar and leading gyms around the country.

Each competitor is required to pay G$1,000. upon submission of completed registration form.

Each night we will have at least 3 matches from each category with each match having 3 sets, so the first to win two sets will win the match and progress to the next round.  At the end of the tournament the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive $100,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively along with gift certificates from Fitness Express and other products from our kind sponsors.

UAW will run for approximately one (1)month from Monday 14th Aril, 2014. All matches will be contested at 7O4 Sports Bar.

Closing date for registration is Friday 11th April, 2014 at midnight followed by a full briefing of rules and timings of at least first round matches and opponents.

The aim if for a minimum of 48 competitors per category.
