Samantha J live on Saturday in Palm Court

Samantha J will be creating some stir this Saturday evening as she is listed as the headlining act for a theme party called “Sahara” at Palm Court, Main Street, Georgetown.

This young artiste is signed to Columbia Records and is known for her 2013 hit “Tight Skirt”, which has featured on international charts. In 2013, she was honoured by the Youth View Awards as the Favourite Breakout Artiste of 2013 and was also nominated for the Young, Hot and Hype Female Artiste of the Year award.

Samantha J was originally discovered by The Si Mi Yah Agency during a model and talent casting in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, days shy of her 18th birthday. The versatile recording artiste and model blends an innocent, melodic, yet edgy vocal style – overlaying patois over Pop, Dancehall, and Reggae music.

Growing up, Samantha’s talent was evident early on –singing, modelling and dancing by the time she was eight years old, and her family helped to develop and influence her musical gifts. She has been impacted by artistes like Justin Bieber, Alaine, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Konshens, and Michael Jackson, whose influence helped to shape her own style – described as a unique blend of Island Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, and Dancehall.

Samantha delivered beyond expectations on “Tight Skirt” — a vibrant, catchy, musically diverse track produced by Conroy Forte of Washroom Entertainment.

She said, “When people listen to my music, I want them to feel a connection – feel uplifted by my music and art.”

Tickets for the event on Saturday evening cost $3000 and are available at Palm Court. Show time is 21:00h.
