Onesha Hutson left Guyana on Sunday evening for Jamaica where she will represent Guyana tomorrow evening as Guyana’s first ambassador to the Miss Global International Pageant where she is expected to compete with over 50 other beauty ambassadors from around the world.
Onesha Hutson who is a natural charmer, is a third year medical student of the University of Guyana and a model. This 22-year-old is no stranger to the glitz and glamour of the life and pageantry.
Her first participation in a pageant was in 2012 when she was a delegate in the Miss Guyana Universe pageant. She also competed in the Miss Jamzone Guyana pageant where she placed first runner-up. Onesha has also walked the runway numerous times locally and regionally.
With that said, Onesha is currently one of five Guyanese models who have been selected to take part in the Music and Fashion Battle (MAFB) in Suriname and The Netherlands.
Apart from her life as a runway model, Ms Hutson has been a part of various health programmes with the Health Ministry and private entities. She is a trained Phlebotomist and volunteers at the St Anne’s Orphanage. She enjoys reminiscing on her school days which were spent at Central High School and St Gabriel’s Primary, and St Rose’s High School, where she graduated as an honour student in 2009.
Being well-rounded, Onesha formed and directed the first drama club at her high school and also played basketball and badminton in her Fifth Form year. Ms Hutson also managed, directed and edited the Daily Rose, which was her high school’s newspaper.
