Vanilla & Tennicia collab on ‘WHO I AM’

Melissa “Vanilla” Roberts, Guyana’s Four time Road March Queen, marches on as she releases her latest single entitled “Who I am”.

It is a soulful soca track on which she teams up with label mate Tennicia Defreitas, the artiste behind of “Don’t Want to be born”.

The song speaks about some things that are synonymous with Guyanese and the Guyanese society and our particular reaction to things and situations. “Who I am” is a timely reminder of who we are as Guyanese and comes at a time when the message of unity is so fluid in the air.

The song features rich harmonies and its Afrocentric theme lends to a feeling of nostalgia and motivates that sense of identity.

The song is written, arranged and produced by Burchmore Simon and is the first in a series of songs dedicated to highlighting the fact that we are Guyanese and proud. The song was recorded at Kross Kolors Studios and was recently released on local airwaves.
