Junior Gong will be producing the upcoming album for legendary reggae band Third World.
According to lead singer of the band AJ Brown, the son of late reggae legend Bob Marley has been busy in the studio working on the highly anticipated project.
Brown, who spoke to The STAR at the recently concluded U.S. Virgin Island Music Festival in St Thomas, added that Junior Gong takes his productions seriously.
“We are working on an album project with Junior Gong, and we are building on the different songs. Trust me, he is very meticulous, deliberate, professional, and he has a very regimented work ethic, and that explains why he is such a successful musician and artiste,” Brown said.
Third World is already promoting a new single produced by Gong called YimMasGan, which is the first from the upcoming project.
“We already filmed a music video for the first single and launched it last month. Based on this single, people can see that it is reminiscent of when Third World just started out. So people can expect the same level of professionalism that we have put into our music. We are taking our time. we are busy writing and creating, so fans should just expect good music. Junior Gong does not take for granted that he is the son of Bob Marley, and he is working and achieving based on his own talent and ability,” he said.
Third World performed an hour-long set at the festival in St Thomas and had patrons’ full attention for the entire display. Other artistes who performed at the three-day festival include Cedric the Entertainer, Spice, Barrington Levy, Pressure, American rapper Future, and reggaeton act Don Omar.
