Guyana Telephone Telegraph Company (GTT) on Friday donated 1.5Mbps dedicated Internet service to the Georgetown Public Hospital which is expected to cost the company $4.6 million annually.
The service will be utilised solely in the Hospital’s training room, an area that was set up for doctors and nurses to benefit from lectures via video-conferences.
Speaking at a simple donation ceremony, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Georgetown Public Hospital Allan Johnson expressed gratitude on behalf of the Hospital and urged the telephone giant to make similar donations in the future.
Public Relations Officer of GTT, Allison Parker posited that her company is pleased to make such a contribution to the Georgetown Public Hospital; Guyana’s premeir health care provider.
She disclosed that the donation comes as part of GTT’s recent “Do more” launch and also revealed plans to collaborate further with the hospital.
