I-Octane makes Vibe Magazine

Vibe Magazine, one of the biggest hip-hop/R&B magazines, has posted I-Octane’s official mixtape, Voice of the Streets, on their website.

In a brief article, also posted on their website, Vibe described I-Octane’s new mixtape as “a loose concept that divides the project into three segments: a bad man, one-drop, and one tailored for women. There are brand-new songs as well as recent favourites. The mixtape is also broken up by comedic skits.”

The new mixtape, which was mixed by DJ Dotcom, was officially released on Monday, February 18, and according to I-Octane, it’s a great feeling to know that his new mixtape is already making a major impact globally.

“Give thanks to Jah Jah fi him blessings. We start conquer the globe already! Di whole globe a fi wi … blessed love,” said a jubilant I-Octane.

I-Octane also said he had great expectations for the new mixtape which fans had been so eagerly anticipating.

“I expect a great response from the fans, because my mixtape is well rounded. It has songs that are cultural, love, and dancehall. The songs that were chosen were from a wide perspective and I made sure not to choose only songs that the people love, but songs of a wide variety. There is a song there for everyone,” he said.

And rightly so, as I-Octane kicks off his new mixtape with his latest smash hit single, Gyal a Gimmi Bun, setting the pace and tone for much of the mixtape.

Loaded with 40 tracks of non-stop vibe, I-Octane not only delivers other favourites like Badmind Dem A Pree featuring Bounty Killer and We Love The Vibe, but there are also a few new tracks that will have listeners bopping heads to them.

I-Octane, in summing up the mixtape in his own words said, “Fans can expect a spiritual, love, and uptempo segment on my mixtape. There is also a story format, as each song complements the next song and the transition from each song is fluent. They are not random.”
