HJ’s 94.1 radio station launched

The Hits and Jams Entertainment Group will today launch its radio station 94.1 Boom FM.

The new station will be mostly entertainment radio with a number of music and entertainment shows. A number of Independent producers and hosts are expected to produce programming for the station.

The radio station should be fully operational on Saturday, March 16 at 9:41h.

Hits and Jams Entertainment is Guyana’s most established entertainment entity and has been in existence for over a decade. It aims to provide high quality entertainment in the forms of promotional events, concept parties, concerts and other social affairs. In addition to this, Hits and Jams is actively involved in operating both television and radio programming after being granted rights to a broadcasting licence in Guyana.

HJ is the first entertainment firm to have excelled in the industry, taking entertainment to newer heights and broadening the horizon for upcoming promotional agencies.

HJ aspires to continue providing Guyanese with quality entertainment with the goal of continuously developing this ever-growing field. This team has no desire for stagnation, and are ever advancing their efforts to achieve the unattainable and further put Guyana on the map.

With the intention of taking entertainment in Guyana to the level of other Caribbean Territories, Kerwin Bollers and Rawle Ferguson armed themselves with the wealth of experience they had gained in this arena and in 1999 launched Hits and Jams Entertainment.

The former hosts of two of the hottest radio programmes in the country, namely ‘Hitsville’ and ‘Jamzone’, Rawle and Kerwin would set the ball rolling by combining the first part of their shows names to create the brand, ‘Hits and Jams’.

Falling under this brand, the first Jamzone event was held in 2000 and rapidly developed to be the most anticipated event of the year.

In the start-up period of the business, the small team, inclusive of Dwidth Ferguson, aimed to create a beach atmosphere and focused their energies on doing just that for their first attempt at ‘Jamzone Summer Break’.

Now, more than a decade later, Jamzone has moved from a simple one day beach affair to a week-long (and soon to be two week long) string of events, ranging from international pageants to Jazz festivals.  International Grammy Award winning artistes such as Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Mario, Donny McClurkin, Omarion, EVE, Akon, and many more have graced Guyana with their presence.

As for the Regional segment, the entertainment group has dealt with all major artistes such as Jah Cure, Movado, Sean Paul, Machel Montano, Mr Vegas, Lady Saw, Macka Diamond, Lil Rick, Peter Ram, Konshens and many more who touched these shores to perform at concerts featured for Jamzone. Today, Hits and Jams is highly recognised for the achievement of Jamzone.

Further, Guyanese overseas and foreigners who have never had the opportunity to experience Jamzone will finally be able to do so, as organisers are seriously looking at the prospects of taking Jamzone international!

The Hits and Jams team will be collaborating with promoters from New York City, Miami, Canada and England to take Guyana’s biggest event to these destinations.
