Hits & Jams Radio finally launched

Officially hitting the airwaves with the National Anthem, Guyanese stood at attention as the instrumental echoed through office radios, car sets, stereo systems in barbershops, salons, stores, other enterprises and households as immense excitement built with the beginning of a new era.

Director of Hits and Jams Entertainment, Entertainer Kerwin Bollers, along with one of his two co-directors, Dwidth Ferguson, set the pace with some of the best juggling. The first sound to erupt from speakers everywhere was ‘Here comes the BOOM’ made famous by DMX, Sean Paul and Mr. Vegas and of course, listeners were greeted by Bollers, the first presenter on 94.1 BOOM FM!

Other presenters on air during the launch were Mr. Rawle Ferguson, Stan Gouveia, Nurriyih Gerrard, Gordon Moseley, Feliz Roberston, DJ Bevaughn, DJ Energy and Gully Ras. 94.1 Boom FM also had a few special guests such as Jamaican artist Kiprich and Bajan singer Lil Rick! Both entertainers participated in giveaways during the launch.
Being dubbed the ‘Next Generation Radio for Next Generation Listeners’ it is only palpable that social media, being the main global base of communication of today’s generation, was overflowing with excitement and interest. Persons took to their Facebook and Twitter pages and within just a few minutes of its launch, 94.1 had built hundreds of new followers. The enthusiasm on Twitter encouraged the HJ team to reward followers with fabulous prizes as they were live callers. Our 200th, 400th and 500th Twitter followers were selected and named winners on air.

Meanwhile, the phone lines went into overdrive as giveaways begun, firstly with a brand new Apple Iphone 5. Among the other giveaways were trips to LIAT destinations, flat screen televisions, Blackberry phones, gas vouchers, phone credit, hampers and gift baskets.

These giveaways will continue for a month-long period and will conclude with the official BOOM Concert on April 14. There, the grand prize of one motorcar along with a motorcycle and other big prizes will be given away to active 94.1 BOOM FM listeners.
