Miguel for Jamaica’s Reggae Sumfest

Miguel has been confirmed by Summerfest Productions as one of the acts slated to perform at Reggae Sumfest 2013.  The young, R&B vocalist, was signed to Jive Records in 2007, the same label responsible for the success of renowned pop superstars such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Usher. Miguel is well known for the chart toppers, “Sure thing”, “Do You”, and “All I Want is You”.

The Los Angeles, California native’s biggest hit to date, “Adorn”, is a sultry, soulful ballad reminiscent of the late Marvin Gay’s smash, “Sexual Healing”. Adorn, was the first track released from the singer’s sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream which peaked at the number 1 spot on the Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. Sumfest Patrons can expect to be wowed by the young artiste’s striking vocals and alluring stage presence while rocking to the sounds of his eclectic LPs. The artiste, who has been knighted as the modern day Prince, often blends the rich sounds of R&B, Rock, Pop and Funk to produce colourful, musical oeuvres.

Miguel will join the list of internationally acclaimed musicians such as Destiny’s Child, Rihanna,   R-Kelly, Kanye West, Lionel Richie, Usher, Chris Brown  and many more who have all previously graced the Reggae Sumfest stage. The Sumfest appearance will mark the singer’s first performance in Jamaica.

Miguel is scheduled to perform on Saturday, July 27, the final night of the Festival, alongside Chronixx. Reggae Sumfest kicks off with its annual beach party on Sunday, July 21. Early bird tickets for the event’s show nights are now available online through Touchstone Ticketing the official online ticketing partner for the Festival. The 21st staging of Reggae Sumfest is sponsored by Digicel, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, Secrets Resorts, Red Stripe, Pepsi and the Jamaica Tourist Board along with many others.

Reggae Sumfest now in its 21st year, will take place July 21 to 27, 2013.  Dubbed The Greatest Reggae Show on Earth, the Festival is expected to again attract thousands of patrons from Jamaica and the rest of the world to its home in Montego Bay. Summerfest Productions, owners and organisers of the event, invite music lovers from all over to come to the Festival and celebrate this milestone.
