Instead of attending the Billboard Awards in Las Vegas on May 19, Rihanna went for a low key dinner in Santa Monica. Was she trying to avoid Chris Brown?
Chris Brown‘s split from his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna just became even more serious! Even though she was nominated for 10 awards — and won four — Rihanna failed to show up at the 2013 Billboard Awards on May 19, and instead, chose to go for dinner at G. Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica. It looks like she really wanted to avoid bumping into Chris!
So why did Rihanna ditch the show?
It seems very likely that Rihanna wanted to avoid Chris, who was also nominated for several awards and performed his hit song “Fine China.” The pair have not spoken in over a week, and Chris has been seen partying with his ex Karrueche Tran.
No wonder Rihanna is not ready to see him yet!
Rihanna tweeted her apologies for not showing up at the show.
“#BBMAs #thatshowweballout #putitindamail #phuckyophanz #phuckyophav #betherenextyear” she tweeted on May 19.
She also thanked Billboard for her three award wins for top R&B artist, top R&B album and top R&B song for “Diamonds.”
“Thank you #BILLBOARD for showing my fans the love they deserve!!! I’m truly grateful for these 4 awards that you’ve rewarded us! Thank you again!!” she wrote on May 19.
It’s a shame that Rihanna missed the show.
