Miracle Hilliman, 21, a second year communication student at the University of Guyana (UG) on Sunday evening outshone her six rivals to cop the coveted title of Miss Emancipation 2013 when the pageant was staged at the National Cultural Centre.
Hilliman was undoubtedly a top contender from the beginning of the competition, dazzling the judges with her flawless presentations. She continued to impress the audience and the panel of judges during the Business Wear Segment when she appeared on stage dressed as a well lawyer.
She continued her dominance as she performed her talent piece – a poem she wrote entitled “I Am An African Woman”.
The young lady moments later left the audience spellbound when she appeared during the evening gown competition, looking regal in her outfit, which was well complemented with a beautiful head wrap.
She sealed the deal when she was asked the final question: “The United Nations has declared 2013-2023 the Decade for People of African Descent, what is your 10-year vision for your people?”
