GFW Designers to host sale

As a climax of Water Week 2013, Guyana Fashion Week (GFW) will kick off a grand showroom sale at its headquarters, 176 Barr Street, Kitty, Georgetown commencing on September 7 and ending on September 21, from 8:00h to 17:00h.

“Fashion flowing like water” is a sale of apparel by GFW designers and will see over 20 local designers slashing their prices on some fabulous pieces of clothing.

Some of these designers are fashion Icon Sonia Noel, Nelsion Nurse, Andy Cummings, Maxi Williams, Wynette Jones, Natash David, Meleesa Payne, Paul Burnette, Paula Evans, Mwanza Glens and Luis Jordan.

The promotion of GFW takes yet another twist. On the heels of the Water Week, the designers have collaborated with the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry.
GFW means business by setting up a forum for trade of its fashion wares. Designers would be able to merchandise and vend for a period leading up to their next major event – Courts/GFW showcase.

“Fashion flowing like water” is one of the GFW’s activities to foster commerce among the local designing fraternity. It’s not only about art, it’s about business. GFW is proud of its inaugural fashion week and is engaging the entire creative arts sector to brand Guyanese style.

Fashion 3The six GFW designers will be available to interact with the public and have discussions on options and ideas. Their pieces will also be sold at a special price, as an exclusive offer to the patrons attending the event. Veteran model and young designer, Meleesa Payne mentioned that this is an amazing opportunity for those fashionists who are interested in young talent.
