THE RIHANNA Diamonds World Tour originally scheduled for next Friday at Kensington Oval has been postponed.
This was was announced today by Live Nation Global Touring, citing the cause as “technical difficulties associated with the transport of equipment”.
No new date was announced, but all tickets purchased will remain valid for a performance “next year”.
A release by Premier Event Services said fans could also get refunds.
Those who purchased tickets with cash or credit card can present the original from Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
For the Barbados leg of the tour, 25 tons of stage equipment was to be brought in, along with a crew of 60.
The stage was reported to be a six-storey backdrop as tall as the Treasury Building along with 350 moving lights and an extensive lighting system, ten flame dragon heads, seven lasers and a 60-foot catwalk extending into the audience.
Rihanna is scheduled to perform tomorrow at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and on Tuesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.
