Glen Washington & Beres Hammond…

The Hits and Jams Easter Fest concert started off with a bang, in a good way.
On Easter Sunday the Guyana National Stadium saw the likes of the reggae superstar Glen Washington and Iconic Jamaican reggae star Beres Hammond. The first artist was local Jingle and Song competition winner Brandon Harding in his all white Jesus outfit. He was good, I personally declare him Guyana’s songbird, forget about Timeka Marshall, that boy can sing!! Glen Washington came on before midnight and did his thing, despite a few technical hiccups with the band and microphone malfunction. At one point Washington walked off stage, leaving the crowd to think… ahmmm “bathroom break”.  But he came back on a minute later, to inform the crowd he had to have a word with the technical staff.  The highlight of the show was Beres Hammond with out a doubt with his “Lover’s Rock style.” His stage presence was electric; he was charming and funny as well as very light on his feet as he bounced from one end of the stage to another. Backed with his live band, Hammond ran through a two-hour performance with songs like “I Feel Good”, “What One Dance Can Do” and “Rock Away”. Hammond thrilled the crowd with ease giving them their hard earned money’s worth. All in all the show was HOT and if you weren’t there try catching tonight’s show. Overall, it was a great night from high yellow Brandon in his church whites, to technical glitches, to Beres’ stage assistant tripping over speakers, to an on stage proposal, yeah you heard right, to light intermittent showers that chased all the ladies to look for shelter. Women and their hair!!!!  Moreover great performances, this event treated the crowd to good vibes, good company and most importantly, good music. Good Job HJ…
