Bunji, Machel vie for Soul Train Awards

Bunji Garlin and Machel Montano are in the running for Best International Performance at the Soul Train Awards.

The event took place November 8 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, but the ceremony will be broadcast this evening on the BET and Centric cable stations.

Bunji Garlin is nominated for his song, Differentology, while Machel earned a nod for The Fog.

The Trinidadians have formidable competition in British singer Emil Sande with Next To Me; Personally by Nigerian Rhythm and Blues duo P-Square and Ur Waist by Nigerian singer Iyanya.

The last Caribbean act to win a Soul Train award was Jamaican singer Gyptian for Hold Yuh in 2010.
