Rihanna might not be at the Grammys this year, but she still managed to grab a golden gramophone this year for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Rihanna’s ‘Unapologetic’ went up against Tamar Braxton‘s ‘Love and War,’ Fantasia‘s ‘Side Effects’ Salaam Remi‘s ‘One: In the Chamber’ and ‘New York: A Love Story’ by Mack Wilds.
She was also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Stay,’ featuring Mikky Ekko, but lost to ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers.
After the Grammys congratulated the Bajan beauty via Twitter, Rihanna replied: “$weet $urprise, pretty phucking rad! Thank you.”
Rihanna, 25, may not have been at the star-studded bash but she did indulge in Grammy-related celebrations over the weekend, attending the Roc Nation pre-Grammy luncheon hosted by her boss Jay Z which also saw the likes of Rita Ora and Kelly Rowland mingling with the crowd.
On Saturday evening, RiRi was spotted partying with her ex Drake and ‘Hot Right Now’ star Rita at celeb hotspot 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood.
RiRi has been maintaining a relatively low profile over the last couple of months since her ‘Diamonds’ world tour came to an end but she has kept fans updated via Instagram where she has shared a number of snaps from her racy photo shoot for Brazilian Vogue including some topless shots and other photos showing her frockling around in a series of bikinis.
