24 short listed in E Networks Emerging Voices

With all the auditions completed, 24 contestants have been selected and are rigorously training as they are set to compete for GY$1milllion in the inaugural E Networks singing contest.

The auditions were held at the Russian Embassy; West Coast Demerara; West Berbice;  Upper Corentyne; Port Mourant, Corentyne; and Essequibo.

The response has been overwhelming which saw more than 100 persons signing up to be audition. Those who were tasked with selecting the top 24 are Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singing sensation Purnash Durgaprashad; Bollywood playback singer, the talented Jeffrey Iqbal and Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s executive member, Dr. Vindhya Persaud.

This competition is aimed at highlighting the talent in Guyana and to create motivation for others to get into music and promote their names country wide. At the end of the competition, it is expected at one male; one female will emerge the best.

The finals are expected to be aired live E-Networks Cable network on our Fiber network in HD and will be aired afterwards on local television across Guyana.

E-Networks has recently launched “Emerging Voices” in an effort to unearth good voices, fresh talent and energetic young performers who will give a boost to Guyana’s budding music industry.

The contest will focus on Hindi and Bollywood Music. The Company will be conducting a search for talented singers between the ages of 16 and 40 years to participate in the auditions for a spot as a contestant in series.

There is over $1M in prizes to be won. In addition to the overall winner, prizes will be awarded to the best performers on each show.
