Introducing: Nikolai A Brathwaite AKA “Litl’n

Born July 8 some 41 years ago all one has to do is hear him belt out a note to conclude that England based singer/ song writer Nikolai A Brathwaite AKA “Litl’n has definitely got music in his DNA. And the conclusion would not be the least bit wrong given that he is the nephew of balladeer Johnny Braff.

His education was completed at the North Georgetown Secondary and while he was drawn to the music of Stevie Wonder and Baby-face which saw him humming a tune here and there he never imagined his abilities musically until he was 17 years old.

With deep roots in Bartica where he was birthed with some experience of growing up in Wineperu and Georgetown he’s now based in England and apart from his wife and three children music is his Life. Incidentally he left Guyana 17 years ago and has since produced songs such as ‘Buy me an island’, ‘If you go (don’t look back),’ ‘in and out,’ airborne, love saw us and a ton more are in the pipeline. Currently he’s working on a duet with Maya Spring.

Reflectively he recalls his first public appearance was at open mic for which he teamed up with soca sensation Passion to do a born Jamericans number: “ The shakes was my father but I manage to start in key and the rest was history.
He went on to sing with the Tennessee band then to the Sheriff Deputies before moving to the Virgin Islands. He also sang with the Eruption band in Tortola before being recruited for duty on the carnival cruise lines singing with the Eclipse band from St Lucia.

“It was there that I met my gorgeous wife on the cruise and moved to the United Kingdom, and now lives in Newquay Cornwall.
Ultimately his aim is to seal a few big record deals and hit number 1 on the UK charts and to make that a reality he’s got his home studio where he writes and produces his music. “I took quite a long break from the live performance but currently rehearsing to go live soon with all originals track.”…To Be continued!
