Amid wrapping the 10th episode and season finale for his now popular reality series, ‘Talk Yuh Mind’, international dancehall star Demarco has found another reason to celebrate following the announcement by BBC that his single, ‘Good Book’, has topped the urban chart in that country.
Featured on the ZJ Liquid-produced ‘Good Book’ rhythm, the song last Friday clinched the No. 1 spot on the British Broadcasting Corporation 1Xtra Dancehall chart, hosted by Robbo Ranx, and was given an official posting via website.
Speaking via his radio show, Robbo said: “The song has been making making its way up the British urban scene.”
The instructive street anthem also continues to threaten charts locally including the Richie B Top 25 Singles where it’s poised at No.11. and No.7 on HYPE-TV VTX Countdown.
A euphoric Demarco said he was pleased with the progress, and credited success to an aggressive promotional campaign and hard work of his team.
“A lot of hard work has been put into this project, countless hours and sleepless nights, so the strides now being accomplished are just a manifestation of all that effort, and I want to personally thank everyone who assisted in the process,” he said.
Capping this milestone is another tinge of good news, courtesy of the Music Industry Achievers Awards (MIA) as Demarco has been nominated for ‘Male Deejay of The Year’. He is set to battle for top honours on Thursday, July 10, at the Courtleigh Auditorium against compatriots Aidonia, Konshens, I-Octane and Vybz Kartel.
