Onesha Hutson was recently crowned Miss Global International Guyana during an audition at the Pegasus Hotel.
The Miss Global International Guyana franchise selected a top five finalists who undertook a screening process in swimwear, introduction, talent, evening gown, interview and final question segments before a highly qualified panel of judges both in the field of pageantry and tourism at the Pegasus Hotel where the final three were announced.
Ashley Cameron, Rashwana Alleyne and Onesha Hutson were the three who made it to the top three spots and were allotted a total of 70 points each by the judges. It was up to the public to contribute the remaining 30 points to their favourite ambassador via text voting which resulted in Miss Hutson topping the chart.
On Saturday last, the grand revelations was made at the Pegasus Oasis Lounge where the winner was announced. An online People’s Choice Award was launched in collaboration with Missosology Guyana website and the winner was Rashawna Alleyne.
The remaining two ladies waited anxiously for the announcement of who was the second and first runners-up. Rashawna Alleyne was adjudged the second runner-up and Ashley Cameron copped the first runner-up spot, making the first ever Miss Global International Guyana 2014 Onesha Hutson.
Miss Hutson will be Guyana’s first ambassador to the Miss Global International Pageant 2014 which is scheduled for December 2-6 in the beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica among a delegation of over 50 other beauty ambassadors from around the world.
Onesha Hutson is a third year medical student of the University of Guyana and a model. This 22-year-old is no stranger to the glitz and glamour of life and pageantry. Her first participation in a pageant was 2012 when she was a delegate in the Miss Guyana Universe pageant. She also competed in the Miss Jamzone Guyana pageant where she placed 1st runner-up. Onesha has also walked the runway numerous times locally and regionally.
Onesha enjoys reminiscing on her school days which were spent at Central High School and St Gabriel’s Primary, and St Rose’s High School, where she graduated as an honour student in 2009.
