Meet Trevin Hunte from the VOICE

If you blinked, you missed the first two hours of season three of ‘The Voice,’ because alas, the final performer has graced the stage — and boy, were they saving the best for last!

Meet Trevin Hunte, an 18-year-old from Jamaica, Queens, NY with GUYANESE Heritage.

Trevin auditioned for the amazing show called the VOICE which aired September 10 and he Blew the Judges away skites!!! Trevin is probably the best singer on the VOICE.  He is not born Guyanese but his parents are. His Dad is Phil HUNTE from Phoenix Park on the West side and his mum is a Jillian FORDYCE from the East Coast. His teacher said he would not amount to anything but He made Ceelo Listen on the Voice and Christina as well as the other judges turn to see who it was.

But it hasn’t always been easy for Hunte to achieve his dreams. In fact, they were shattered at a young age. “In middle school I got the chance to go to a performing arts school. I had to get four teacher recommendations, but I only got three,” he said. “The fourth said I shouldn’t waste my time and that I wouldn’t amount to anything. I’m here and thankful to be here. I feel like now’s the time I can prove my teachers wrong. I am gonna become something.”

Within seconds of opening his mouth to sing Beyonce‘s ‘Listen,’ he proved his teachers wrong. Christina turned her chair around, egging her fellow coaches on to turn their chairs around as well. And as Hunte reached the climax of the chorus, Blake and Cee Lo turned around too. All three coaches gave Hunte a standing ovation.

“You got all three of us to stand to our feet. Did you push your button Adam?” asked Christina. When he responded with a ‘no,’ she scolded him. “Ugh, what is wrong with your ears!? I’m completely blown away. I don’t even know what to say other than to please pick me. I want you to be on my team!”

But despite her best efforts, he chose Cee Lo to be his coach! “You might be the dude, man. The dude to win this thing,” said Cee Lo. And with that, part one of the blind auditions ends on a brilliantly high n
