The Miss World Guyana Committee has selected a delegate to represent Guyana in Sanjay, China in December at the Miss World pageant. The delegate will be revealed to the public at a coronation ceremony on Friday, June 26 at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston, Georgetown.
The lucky young lady has outshone 14 other contestants and is deemed the most suitable delegate to represent Guyana at the international pageant despite having no pageant experience.
The new queen will be crowned by reigning Miss World Guyana Rafieya Husain at a lavish ceremony.
Husain’s platform as the 2014 Miss World Guyana Queen has made an indelible mark on the lives of victims of domestic violence particularly teenagers. She has used her “Beauty with a Purpose” platform to engage thousands of young people in Guyana, the Caribbean and further afield with messages of hope, love, and respect.
Having had one year to campaign for young people in violent relationships, Husain has to pass the baton to the new Miss World Guyana Queen, who was selected by the Directors of the Miss World Guyana Franchise.
Apart from the crowning, the much-anticipated event will see performances by popular radio host Nuriyyih Gerrard and talented poet Randolph Critchlow.
The coronation ceremony will be hosted by former beauty queens Ruqayyah Boyer, Miss World Guyana 2013 and Husain. All donations received will go towards the Miss World Guyana Beauty with a Purpose humanitarian fund.
The 2015 Miss World Guyana Coronation Ceremony is sponsored by the Marriott Hotel and Caribbean Airlines.
