Shabada & Friends, this weekend

This weekend, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) will have the first piece of the Bashment pie as L Brothers Entertainment presents “Bashment Granny-3” at the McKenzie Sports Club ground on Saturday evening.

The action continues on Sunday evening at the National Cultural Centre and on Monday, Berbicians are in for a threat as they await the final show on Monday evening at the New Amsterdam Technical Institute tarmac.

The entire cast has arrived in Guyana and is anxiously waiting to take to the stage as they perform for their Guyanese fans that have been with them from the inception. Two of the main cast members during a press briefing on Thursday encouraged persons to come out and be a part of theatrical production which is expected to be off the hook.

Badman Trevor who plays a thief in the second edition of the production will continue his ways in the third edition while Keith Shabada is also in pursuit of the money. In the third edition, it will determine who gets the huge sum of money.

Apart from the entertainment, there will be two workshops for play writers and schools on Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening at the National School of Theatre. Those who are interested in being a part of the workshops are encouraged to get on board.

A part of the proceedings from the three shows will go towards the medical expenses of Solomon Austin from St Garbiel’s Primary School who was pushed down a flight of stairs.
One of the promoters who was present at the press briefing could not confirm how much they will contribute to the lad’s medical bill but said the group is willing to offset the expenses for airfare and possible accommodation.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Linden show will be available at Muslim Top Up Shop and Boutique and Bernard’s Variety Store. Tickets for the Berbice show are available at La Rose Variety Store (in market); Fordy’s Bar, Tuckberg, New Amsterdam; and Candy Shop, New Amsterdam Market.

Tickets for Georgetown will he sold at the National Cultural Centre.
