Pizza hut is coming back to Guyana via a new franchise holder. Pizza Hut was previously in Guyana under DIDCO who lost the franchise rights to Pizza Hut and KFC sometime last year.
Corum, which is owned and managed by three young Guyanese and which operates the Gravity Lounge, Marble Slab icecream franchise and distributes Maybelline make-up here in Guyana, was able to acquire the franchise rights for Pizza Hut and the company is looking to open the first new location before the end of the year with the possibility of five pizza huts within the next couple of years.
Navin Singh and Clairmont Cummings both from the Corum have said that training has already started for management and senior staff members and hiring will begin soon for other staff members.
NewsSource quoted Managing Director, Clairmont V. Cummings, who is also a Director for United Investments which owns the Gravity Lounge, Corum believes it is fortunate have been given the opportunity “to pursue and mold our creative desires with regard to any of the avenues we so choose”.
He said he considers the new move a new adventure which is coupled with a new milestone, “and definitely a new challenge”.
The company hopes to set up five locations across Guyana and intends to keep the quality at the standard of the international franchises.
