MMG is once again announcing even more exciting news that has been long awaited.
Starting today, Courts and Lucky Dollar installments can be paid via Mobile Money. Payments can be made with any mobile phone from anywhere, at any time. Digicel users with Android and Blackberry phones who register for MMG will also be able to pay using their phones, via the MMG App.
Unregistered users can make payments over-the-counter at MMG Agents or GTT Business Offices countrywide. A nominal fee of $60 is charged for payments under $60,000. Customers should have their 12 digits account number available to effect payment.
Accounts will be updated on the Courts and Lucky Dollar databases within 24 hours of payment.
GTT Director, Mr. Eshwar Thakurdin stated “Only two weeks ago, we opened our service to customers of the Other Network; so it’s exciting to announce today our partnership with Guyana’s leading furniture and electronic giants – Unicomer (Guyana) Inc. We can now offer the convenience of Mobile Money to Unicomer’s huge base of loyal patrons.”
Unicomer’s Director of Credit, Mr. Kenneth Scrubb said “with a hire-purchase customer base of over 40,000 Guyanese from all corners of the country, the Management of Unicomer agreed that a more flexible and convenient option of making monthly payments would be in our customer’s best interest; especially those residing out of town, or who finds it difficult to visit a store to make a payment. Mobile Money was an easy choice since it now caters for customers from both networks.”
The list of bill payments that can now be made with Mobile Money include GTT, GPL, GWI, GRA, Courts, Lucky Dollar, IPED, Hand in Hand and Demerara Mutual Insurances.
Mobile Money since its inception has long pledged to make the lives of all Guyanese easy, allowing persons to make everyday payments in an innovative, safe and most convenient way. The goal has always been to reduce the need for physical cash; as GTT’s MMG ushers Guyana into the ‘New Age of paying for goods and services’.
